Not only was MOCA a new organization in the Lower Junction Neighbourhood, but so were many of their visitors. I developed a mutually beneficially neighbourhood partnership with many of the Sterling Road businesses, like Henderson’s Brewing, Drake Commissary and House of Anansi Press. The promotions and communications from the partnership bolstered awareness for the neighbourhood and encouraged visitors to explore and connect with the other creative businesses MOCA works with.
I was also the chair of “On Sterling” a local adhoc community group representing the residents, businesses and artists along Sterling Road. On Sterling was a platform to collaborate, discuss issues and strengthen the neighbourhood.
